The solution covers all aspects of ATM driving, including ATM network management, related business management, and advanced-function ATM driving.
Banks and credit unions use Postilion to drive their ATMs in-house and manage online connections to EFT networks. Postilion directly controls ATMs, intercepts cardholders' bankcard transactions, and processes these transactions online to core system accounts, as well as earning fee income from foreign cardholders.
ATM transactions can either be directly acquired from ATMs, in the case of "on-us" transactions, or can be indirectly acquired from a shared EFT network, in the case of "remote on-us" transactions.
The solution can be delivered as a service in our data center or be installed on-premise. The application service deployment leaves the administration and operational requirements for managing hardware and software to our dedicated team of data center professionals.
Postilion supports directly driven ATMs, both dial-up and leased-line, and advanced-function ATMs. Supported leased-line ATMs include those based on Diebold 911 and 912, and NCR NDC+, as well as those that emulate these types, such as Wincor and Fujitsu. Supported dial-up ATMs include Triton, Tranax (formerly Cross), Tidel, and Diebold CSP 100/200, as well as certain Triton emulations.
Managing an ATM network can be a daunting exercise without the correct tools. It is important to know the status of every ATM in the network at any given moment and to control each ATM from a central point.
The Postilion solution provides terminal management, allowing proactive, real-time monitoring of ATMs and network connections. Postilion is configured, monitored, and queried via easy-to-use graphical user interfaces.
Operators can view all terminals connected to the system. For example, operators can check on the cash levels at a particular ATM or on the status of a specific ATM. Postilion marks the operation of an ATM as "normal", "suspect", or "critical" and lists possible reasons for a malfunction.
Because Postilion centralizes information, it ensures that a large number of terminals can be managed efficiently with a minimum of client operating personnel. An operator can send commands, such as tracing commands, to a specific terminal.
Should any problems occur with a particular ATM, pager and e-mail alarms can be configured to alert staff to problems automatically.
Postilion provides tools that are required for management purposes, such as drawing monthly reports and summaries, auditing data, investigating system failures, responding to customer queries and complaints, and analyzing system performance.
Transaction queries are performed in real time and the results can be viewed on secure user interfaces installed on a remote machine, if required. Queries are performed on all of the transaction data and include a graphical representation of the transaction flow for each transaction matching the search criteria. This functionality is invaluable when it comes to resolving cardholder queries.
The solution provides powerful reporting facilities available in real time or as standard batch reports. For ATMs, the following information can be reported on:
- ATM downtime summary
- ATM downtime detail
- ATM cassettes: total media remaining
- ATM cassettes: media detail report
- Average cash dispensed (per day-of-week)
The solution also offers a rich set of reports that supports the everyday balancing functions of an ATM deployment.
Postilion offers download management, a flexible way of dealing with ATM downloads (for ATMs using Diebold 911 and 912 or NCR NDC+).
A download contains the customized data sent to an ATM in order to prepare the ATM for service. The download determines what cards will be accepted and how the ATM will behave on encountering different classes of cardholders. It also provides a walk-through of steps required to complete a successful transaction.
